THE CONFERENCE OF THE BIRDS

This collection is inspired by a 12th-century mystical epic written by the Persian poet Attar.

In this series, I was inspired by the 7 valleys described in the poem:

the valley of search, the valley of love, the valley of knowledge, the valley of detachment, the valley of unification, the valley of wonder and finally the valley of privation and annihilation.
This poem is an allegory, in which the search for symbolism represents the search for divine perfection.
